Last night, the newly crowed BRITS Critics’ Choice winner released his latest soft rock single which premiered on Annie Mac’s BBC Radio 1 show last as her Hottest Record In The World. ‘Hypersonic Missiles’ follows the thoughts of “a complete tin foil hatter”, according to Fender, who is convinced the world is about to end but is helpless in doing anything about it.

Fender, from North Shields, went on to say “This song started out when I saw the term ‘Hypersonic Missiles’ in a newspaper. It’s a newly developed Russian missile that travels at something like nine times the speed of sound, which is essentially unstoppable. America currently has no defence against such a weapon, they would be helpless in the wake of an attack, as you have roughly six minutes from the time it is launched to the time it strikes. In many ways, ‘Hypersonic Missiles’ is an unorthodox love song. Amongst all the chaos is love and celebration, there is this glimmer of hope that runs through the song, a little notion that no matter what happens, these two people are gonna have a good time regardless of the tyrants that run their world, and regardless of the imminent doom from these ‘Hypersonic Missiles’.”

The track stays true to his signature anthemic guitar sound while incorporating new and original riffs that will definitely be a hit when played live.

Fender’s upcoming UK tour has completely sold out so don’t miss his set at Neigbourhood on Sunday 26th May! Get your tickets now from here
